Daniel L. Saenz, PhD

Associate Professor

Daniel Saenz is an Assistant Professor and Medical Physicist in the Department of Radiation Oncology. His clinical focuses are on quality assurance, patient safety, and stereotactic radiosurgery. Academically, he isthe course director of RADI 6030 and mentors PhD students, DMP students, and medical physics residents. He also participates at the university level in interprofessional education at UTHSCSA. His research focuses include image-guidance techniques in lung SBRT including 4D-CBCT and intrafractional image guidance for motion compensation and adaptive radiotherapy. Also, he focuses on accurate and efficient forms of stereotactic radiosurgery including the treatment of multiple intracranial brain metastases with a single isocenter. This work also includes dosimetry applications for the quality assurance of dose delivery.
