Research & Grants

Study of the regenerative capacity of damaged mechanosensory and GABAergic neurons.
The signaling mechanism regulating the regeneration ability of neurons damaged by laser axotomy is explored through various genetic mutations, transgene models, and drug treatments.

A study of the effects of cell death mechanisms such as autophagy and ferroptosis on the maintenance/recovery of neuronal function.
Transect/resuture the sciatic nerve of the animal model, then observe their behavior. We recently found that axonal fusion, which is the most efficient way for damaged neurons to restore their function, occurs under certain conditions.
