Venkata S Katabathina, MD

Dr. Venkata Katabathina is an abdominal radiologist with a special interest in imaging of the liver and kidney transplants and pancreatic imaging. He is also very interested in radiogenomics of abdominal and pelvic cancers that aim to correlate imaging features with gene mutations. He also serves as the Director of Abdominal Imaging and Director of medical student education in Radiology. He enjoys providing exceptional patient care as a clinical abdominal radiologist and always follow the ‘Patient-First’ philosophy. He is passionate about educating medical students, radiology residents, and abdominal imaging fellows and firmly believe the concept of ‘Happy Learning.’ Venkat has presented at many national and sub-specialty conferences and published about 50 peer-reviewed papers, six book chapters, and 160 invited lectures, scientific and educational exhibits thus far. His academic efforts have been rewarded by multiple awards, including the prestigious Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA) Honored Educator award for three times. He is interested in initiating and fostering multi-institutional collaborative research and educational endeavors.
