Hepatology - In addition to the training in liver disease that is intrinsic to Gastroenterology Fellowship training, I additionally undertook an additional year of focused fellowship training in Hepatology. I thus have additional experience and expertise in the diagnosis and management of liver disease, including hepatitis C virus, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and many other hepatic conditions.

08/2019: Texas Public Radio (I participated in a 1-hour interview on Texas Public Radio's “The Source” along with Dr. Naim Alkhouri concerning viral hepatitis. The purpose was to educate the public about viral hepatitis including transmission, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.)

03/2019: Colorectal Cancer Awareness 5K Run /Walk, “Get Your Rear in Gear” (I participated in a 5K walk /run for the Colon Cancer Coalition. I also donated personal funds. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness and funding for colon cancer screening and research)

08/2017: Texas Public Radio interview (I completed a 1-hour radio interview along with Dr. Barbara Turner concerning chronic Hepatitis C. It was conducted by Wendy Rigby. The radio program is called “The Source” on Texas Public Radio which is a daily call-in show that highlights community issues and education. We discussed the prevalence, epidemiology, risk factors for transmission, and natural history of Hepatitis C to educate the general public about the need for screening and treatment.)
